The Entrance of the Bridal Party

Sunday, April 29, 2012

One of the grandest parts of the wedding ceremony was when the bridal party made its entrance.  Everyone was so excited as they waited for the bridal party to begin their entrance, wondering...  Who is in the wedding?  What are they wearing?  Will the flower girls scatter rose petals?  But mostly I think they all wanted to see the emotion on the faces of the bride and groom and share that moment with us...  As Reggie stood at the altar with his best man and the officiants, the processional began with the seating of the grandparents, which we were blessed to have both of Shamesha's grandmothers and maternal grandfather; followed by the seating of the mothers; the groomsmen and bridesmaids entered as couples; then our ring bearers and flower girls; finally the maid of honor  The air was so full of anticipation as Reggie anxiously awaited the first glimpse of his bride in her wedding dress...  (go here)

Orthopedic Doctors Visit

Thursday, April 26, 2012

After the Children's Museum today, we had to pick Sabriya up a little early from school and take her to the Orthopedic doctor to see what's been going on with her right hip. She has been having pain and limping now for over 2 months and it doesn't appear to be getting any better. The doctor wouldn't say exactly and he is hoping for the best, but he thinks it might be a small fracture but he's hoping for a strained muscle. Tomorrow morning we are schedule for an MRI, we opted out on the standard x-rays and decided to go straight for the MRI because most of the time they will do an x-ray and can't determine anything and you have to do the MRI anyways. Even more so by not doing the x-ray then she isn't exposed to unnecessary radiation on the ovaries...  She also has to start physical therapy and won't be able to participate in any of the basketball tournaments scheduled over the next 3 weekends, bummer!  We are hoping to get her well enough for her dance recital in June and Utah BB tournament in July...

Field Trip

Shannon invited me to go along on Trey's preschool class field trip today to the Phoenix Children's Museum and without hesitation of course I said YES!  Shannon has said on several occasions how much she really enjoyed this place, but her descriptions just didn't do this museum justice.  This place is nothing short of FABULOUS and not just for the kids but the adults as well.  Needless to say, I had a blast being able to see the boys enjoy all of the wonderful things the museum had to offer.  It is even a little hard to say what their favorite parts were because there was nothing that they didn't enjoy and want to do over and over again.   But for Boston I would say that it was probably a tie between the 2 Whoosh structures and the Pit Stop Racetracks.  I think he could have stayed in either of those places ALL day and be totally content.  For Trey, the Schuff-Perini Climber which towered above the atrium floor, it was like climbing a tree and probably the Racetracks as well.  Boston drug me thru the climber a couple of times and it never ceases to amaze me that as much as I work out, doing something out of the ordinary had me using muscles that were very dormant Haha!

The MOMENTS Before

Wednesday, April 25, 2012

We’ve watched her play in the sandbox, lose her first tooth, go on her first date, graduate from high school and live on her own for the first time. Now our little girl isn’t so little anymore, and she’s getting married! During this time just before that special moment when Mark will walk her down the aisle, many intimate family photos were captured while the Bridal Party was lining up for the walk and as we relived the memorable moments in her life with fondness … That special moment has come much quicker than we could have imagine… that moment when arm-in-arm Mark will walk her to her groom and she will be looking forward to her future and to her marriage. Looking back now, I am hoping that she took small steps and that she took that time to really soak in the moment… (go here)

Wedding Details

Tuesday, April 24, 2012

Weddings are glamorous and beautiful, they take so so so much planning and then it goes by wayyyy too fast but all these beautiful pictures are allowing us to take a few moments here and there, to look back and really savor it all.  The details of a wedding are pretty important! The little stuff really added up to make this day "SHAMESHA" simple & elegant... and so I thought I'd share some of he details of their.  Hope you enjoy! (go here)

The Groom & His Boys

Monday, April 23, 2012

Ahhhh... the Groom & His Boys they always make me smile. Most guys tend to be naturally shy when the camera comes out (at least when it comes to professional photos) but not these boys. Here are a few pictures of a really fun crowd, honoring the friendships and rituals of the men on the wedding day.  Reggie's friends played a major role in their celebration and had a blast bonding while preparing for the ceremony... Bride Under Construction

Sunday, April 22, 2012

The quite (or not so quite) yet intimate moments before the wedding ceremony... the emotion behind these pictures are still raw today and it's been 2 months since the wedding day. Throughout the day, we walked a delicate line between the past and the future... These photos have captured many heart felt, tender moments giving Mesha & Reggie a lifetime of memories that were not seen while all of this was happening, thus giving them windows into the hearts of the people they love. The BRIDE'S Here!

Friday, April 20, 2012

BRIDE ARRIVING outside the venue... the car pulled up to the curb, the driver got out and opened the door for our bride-to-be and her attendants... one of the biggest days in her life and most memorable, she looked and smiled at the waiting crowd in front of the Villa... (go here)

Ready to Depart

Wednesday, April 18, 2012

No last minute stresses about getting everyone to the chapel on time and no last minute change of plans, because the Mother-of-Bride rented a limo for the Bride, Bridesmaids, Flower Girls, Ring Bearers, and a few nieces & cousins that picked us all up at the house at the assigned time and delivered us safe and on time. Getting Ready

Tuesday, April 17, 2012

Come see how we spent Shamesha's Wedding Morning (click).  I absolutely loved the “getting ready” part of the wedding day. The energy was somewhere between calm before the storm, excitement and controlled chaos…and the photos taken during this time are  my personal favorites and a great way to start the wedding album. Some of the awesome photos you will see will include all the details such as Mesha's wedding dress, her shoes, the wedding rings, invitations, the flowers …

EASTER TABLESCAPE
We decided or rather MOM decided to have our lunch outside since it was such a beautiful Spring day!  My motivation of course is that being outdoors always makes pictures so much more pretty and I am pretty proud of my Easter table settings and I hope you will be too.

EASTER LUNCHEON
We made all kinds of delicious stuff for our lunch today: Turkey and PB&J sandwiches cute into bunnies and egg shapes for the kiddos.  Tuna salad, pasta salad, strawberry & walnut salad, jerk chicken, jello jiggles, potato salad, deviled eggs... just to name a few!  Everything was so good and believe it or not most of my girls came over right after church and worked right beside me to get all this done and laid out in time for our 2 o'clock lunch.

DESSERT BAR
Well if you haven't figured it out yet, I have a thing for dessert bars, it is so bad that I am now looking for reasons to create one... well Easter was definitely a perfect opportunity and so here it is our Easter themed dessert bar.  WARNING: you may put on some calories by just looking at all of his sweet stuff!

EASTER BASKETS
I was so not going to buy the boys stuffed bunnies or any such thing because they are such boys they just don't seem to be into them all that much.  That was until I happen upon these totally cute ALL BOY BUNNIES from the movie HOP!  I just couldn't pass them up, and of course there were only 2 left and without much thought they seemed to just hop right on into my basket. Haha!
EGG HUNT

The first two pictures are of the boys and Malaysia waiting for the Egg Hunt to begin, after that it's Ready, Set, Gooooooooo!  I did not get any pictures of the "older" kids hiding the eggs but really wish I had because I'm still not sure who had more fun - the big kids hiding them or the little kids finding them.  If you know my group then you know exactly what I'm talking about and can only imagine...
