Awards Ceremony

Monday, May 30, 2011

This was GCCS's end of the year awards ceremony for middle school. I will shamefully say that I had another appointment today that clashed with the award ceremony and I wasn't going to make it. In my defense I will say that there are very very very few activities that we have EVER missed for Sabriya or any of the other five kids in all these many years that we have been doing this parent thing. So on our drive to school I could tell that something was bothering Bri, she was extremely quite and moody. I asked but she wouldn't share what was going on in that mind of hers... When we arrived at school, we did our normal ~ hug, kiss, goodbye. Buttttt instead of driving off I stayed put for a minute and watched her walk away and BINGO she was stomping off and even shugged off a hug from a friend who walked up to her. Soooo I beep beep the horn and motioned for her to return to the car and I asked her directly if she was bothered because I wouldn't make the awards ceremony and she replied, "well kind of!" So I told her that I would be back...

and so I rushed through my appointment and hurried back to the school.  I am so very glad that I didn't miss it, I knew that she was going to get the sports award but neither her or I knew that she would also be awarded with the physical fitness, most improved math and most improved science awards. WOW!  Way to go Sabriya, we are so blessed to have been chosen to be your parents.  We love you and can't wait to see what things you accomplish as a 7th Grader next year. XOXO Mommy!

Piano Recital

Here are a few pictures of our Little Piano Player, yes that's right she can dance, she can cheer, she can ball it with the best of em' and she can play the piano pretty gracefully too. She definitely has a talent for it and we love to hear her play at home. GO BRIYA! GO BRIYA! GO BRIYA!  She actually starting playing the piano when she was only three years old... she had to sit on pillows and her feet was no where near the floor.  I remember the piano teacher telling us way back when, that she had to learn her ABC's and numbers before she could start lessons, and look at her now.

Love & Basketball

PaPa playing basketball with the boys... It was funny to watch Boston, he was not going to be left out. Each time PaPa would lift up Trey to reach the basket, Boston would stand below him with his basketball looking up just watching and waiting for his turn. PaPa really got a good work out lifting both boys up and down. He was teaching Trey how to dribble. Trey was able to get up to at least 3 dribbles at a time although he didn't want to, he only wanted to shoot so we told him for every shot he had to dribble and he did.

Here's Boston waiting for his turn...

Here's Trey dribbling...
