An Independence Day Shindig

We had an amazing time today with family and friends celebrating Independence Day.  Mark brought out the grill and we hosted a backyard barbecue enjoying the summer sun, swimming, some pick-up games of basketball and a few rounds of beer pong.  Some time after an awesome meal, dessert and more swimming, the group gathered in the driveway to light up the night with some fireworks.  Our show was amateur at best, but definitely memorable and stress-free with no crowds to worry over.  The enthusiasm of our little group was through the roof as we lit up the night sky with our big, loud, vibrant and dazzling spectacle of lights.

Who knows, we had such a fun time, a tradition just may have been developed with this spontaneous 4th of July backyard barbecue.  If you weren't there, well there's always next year...
